A NOTE FROM THE TEACHER

Our first week of our "Polar Animals" GLAD (Guided Language Acquisition Design) unit was a success! Check your child's bag for a "Take-Home Card", which they can use to teach you all about the physical characteristics, habitat, young, and diet of the animal!

On Monday (and Tuesday if needed), we will also have "Picture Day"! Students will sit on a stool against our white curtain background and/or North Pole background. Feel free to have your child dress up, hair styled, whatever you prefer!

WHAT WE ARE LEARNING

Theme: Polar Animals

1. There are many types of polar animals in our world! This week we will learn about the reindeer!

2. Polar animals adapt, or change, so they can live in colder climates. We will learn about their body parts and how the parts help them survive.

3. Polar animals are amazing creatures. We will learn fun facts about the animals in our different centers.

Math: Graphing

We will practice sorting and graphing! We will continue to practice counting as we practice all these skills.

Art/Science/Social Studies

We will create art projects related to each polar animal!
