A NOTE FROM THE TEACHER
Please check your child's folder for new papers in the sleeves! You and your child can practice conversation, academic, and social skills using a dry-erase marker. Let me know if you need a marker and I can send one home! Any other papers in the pockets or your child's bag can be taken out and kept at home :)

WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
Theme: Halloween
We will continue to learn about pumpkins and learn about Halloween!
We will explore:
How pumpkins look, feel, sound, smell, and taste
The parts of an pumpkin
How pumpkins grow
Different foods made from pumpkins
The history of Halloween and ways people celebrate
Students are welcome to wear costumes, onesies, or pajamas. Please make sure your child goes to the bathroom BEFORE they put on their costume.
We will go trick-or-treating in our classroom on this day! Due to class allergies and promoting health, we will not be having candy in the classroom on this day. If you would like to donate a NON-CANDY item for us, such as items from Dollar Tree like pencils, erasers, stamps, spider rings, etc.), that would be very appreciated!
Math: Patterns and Measurement
We will practice making and identifying patterns, and measuring using different objects, like cubes and paper clips! We will continue to practice counting as we measure.
Art/Science/Social Studies
We will study the parts of an pumpkin and make Jack-O'-Lanterns for art!
AT-HOME PRACTICE AND TIPS
Speaking and Listening Skills with "Show and Tell"!
Our students are learning how to describe and teach each other about an object, and listening and asking on-topic questions...which are not easy to do!
You can practice with your child at home by asking them questions about their object, or teaching THEM to ask questions, such as:
WHO bought that for you?
WHAT letter/sound does it start with?
WHAT color/shape/size is it?
WHERE do you keep it in your home?
WHERE did you get it from?
HOW do you use/ play with it?
WHY do you like it?
CAN you pass it around so we can see/touch it?
You can also model commenting or complimenting:
I really like your (object)!
I have (object) at home, too!
I think your (object) is awesome!

If you are satisfied with your child's education and growth at "Learn-a-Lot Bilingual Preschool", I would appreciate your review of us on any of these platforms:
Thank you!
Hi Annie - can you remind us how many students are in the classroom? So that I can send enough items for the trick or treating activity
