WHAT WE ARE LEARNING
Themes: Emotions
We will start our new unit about emotions: what they are, what each one looks and feels like, what we can do to feel (or stop feeling) a certain emotion. We will do this through Circle Time, center activities, books, and songs!
Letter of the Week: C
Our first letter of the week will be "C"! We will practice recognizing the letter name and sound and writing the letter using different materials.
If your child would like to bring an item from home or a photo of something that begins with the letter "C" for "Show-and-Tell", please make sure the item can fit in their school bag.
Here is the weekly "Show-and-Tell" schedule:
Monday: Mrs. Annie
Tuesday: Ari, Aria, and Chloe
Wednesday: Ellie, Kingston, and Malee
Thursday: Max and Zian
Color of the Week: red, màu đỏ
Our first color of the week is red, or màu đỏ! We will practice identifying the color, finding and sorting objects with that color, and naming the color in English and Vietnamese!
Math: Counting from 1-10
We will practice counting in English and Vietnamese from 1-10 in various ways: number of students voting on our question of the day, people in the room, objects in front of us and more!
Shape of the Week: circle, hình tròn
We will practice recognizing circles, naming objects that are shaped like circles, and drawing circles (they are similar to writing the letter "C"!).
Art/Science/Social Studies
Last week we created a paper mosaic of our names. This week we will continue to practice self-portraits with different emotions. We will use circles for our heads and eyes, and we will talk about how different colors can represent different emotions (like in the movie "Inside Out"!)

Annie, I’m so sorry. I didn’t read this until now. Will get a check to you tomorrow. Also, realized that today is Ellie’s turn for show and tell. Can we move it to tomorrow instead?
